What Is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a well-established healing system founded by Dr. Samuel Hahneman in the early 1800's. Appalled by the barbaric medical practices of his day he sought a more humane alternative and started experimenting with small dilutions of toxic drugs.

Homeopathic remedies are very diluted medicines and are made from natural sources - animal, plant, or minerals and are used to stimulate the body to heal itself. Homeopathy is based on treating an illness with a substance that in its crude form causes the symptoms that it is able to heal in its diluted form. This means that a substance administered in large crude dosages to a healthy body will produce specific health symptoms, but when this same substance is reduced and diluted so that it only contains the "essence" of the substance it will stimulate the body's reactive forces to relieve the symptoms. For example, crude Arsenic causes diarrhea, restlessness, anxiety, and fear of death - but in minute doses will actually relieve these symptoms. Homeopathic Apis (or bee venom) treats swellings, bites, and allergic reactions.

Homeopathic remedies are potent, effective, and extremely safe with no unwanted side effects. They are safe for babies, foals, broodmares, and all other animals and can be given as often as necessary until the symptoms have subsided. Homeopathic remedies in liquid form should be syringed or dropped directly into a clean mouth (ie without food).
