Feeding Herbs & Administering Homeopathic

Medicines

Most Horses like the taste of herbs (they are natural foragers) therefore the best way to feed herbal blends and powders is to add them to their regular grain. If the horse eats none or very little grain use wheat bran-wheat bran is very well tolerated and mixes well with herbs-add a small amount of water (they love warm water in the winter). Wheat bran can also be added to their regular grain. It is best to start with a small amount of herbal blend and gradually increase it to the recommended dosage since this allows them to get used to the taste. For the very finicky horse, or if you simply want to spoil them, add cut carrots, apples, applesauce and/or a small amount of molasses.

Homeopathic medicines (liquid or pellets) must be given directly into a clean mouth without food. Simply syringe (or use a pipette dropper) the dosage directly out of the bottle or add 1-2 ml to a small amount of water and syringe the mixture. Homeopathic medicines are vibrational and must therefore make contact directly with the mouth-for this reason they are very fast-acting and very effective.
